The doorless village of Sialia in Kendrapada district will be included in the tourism map besides the century-old palace at Rajkanika,
Sialia in Rajkanika block is only one of its kind. The 150 houses in the village do not have doors. It is mostly inhabited by farmers and businessmen. Even the 45-year-old primary school and community centre, constructed three years ago, do not have doors.
The village is separated from Bhitarkanika National Park by a river. So tourists are likely to visit the park. The Rajkanika palace is only two km from Sialia
Houses in Sialia do not have doors nor do they have safety lockers because they believe that Ma Kharakhai protects them. Though thefts take place in all adjoining villages, not a single case has been reported from Sialia.
