The annual five-day Konark Festival of Odisha showcases some spectacular classical dance performances by leading artists. In 2014, the festival starts from December 1. Since 1989, the Konark Festival has been drawing the attention of travellers to Konark, the home of the famous 13th century Sun Temple.
An official of Odisha Tourism says, “Each year, the majestic Sun Temple of Konark serves as a backdrop to the Konark Dance Festival, which is a platform for well known exponents of different classical dance styles to come together to celebrate the beauty of their art forms.”
