“When cinemas were always been one of the most popular forms of entertainment since many decades, many single screen cinema halls in Odisha have been closed down in the recent past as they were unable to cope up with the onslaught of television channels, video piracy, frequent hike in electricity cess, taxes imposed by the government in various forms, new forms of competition to entertain audience and other factors. Sri Sitaram Vilas Talkies (SSVT) in Berhampur, the first cinema theater in Odisha set up in 1927 which was the cine goers’ paradise also met the same fate and is on the oblivion. This film is an attempt to instil the truth that cinema halls are facing difficult times.”
