Bhuaneswar is waiting to witness its first Bali Jatra on its outskirts this year. Though efforts had been made to hold a festival last year, it could not take place due to no consent from the Commissionerate police.
It is to be held on the Kuakhai riverbanks at Patia Bandha near Jaripatna from November 23 to 30. Bali Jatra in Bhubaneswar will feature around 500 stalls, two stages, various types of swings and cultural programmes every evening.
A plan is underway for parking of vehicles and ensuring fire safety issues. The stall booking has also started after the inauguration of the committee office.
