The building spans across an area of 8000 square metres and is located centrally, at an impartial distance from every department. Structurally, the building consists of two parts – the administrative block having 6 floors including parking area and the tower portion having 13 floors. The rear portion of the administrative block will house a seminar hall. The base of the administrative block will have a parking lot and a cafeteria. Among the offices planned to be shifted to the tower portion upon completion of construction are those of the Finance Section, Administration Section, Examination Section and the Alumni section. The block will also have the Director’s office, Deans’ offices, Registrar’s office, Internal Audit office, Visiting Professor’s office, Board Room and Educational and Technology Studio. There will be a library spread over two floors separated by a mezzanine. The building will also cater to some of the needs of certain departments in terms of classrooms. According to the current plan, a telescope will be installed on the top of the building and there will be provisions for the department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences to take observations regarding the climate.
