Odisha’s ancient Saraswati temple is located in premises of Puri Jagannath Temple. Goddess Saraswati is established at a small Temple at the entrance of Goddess Bhubaneswari temple. Here Devi Saraswati sits on the back of her mount swan. Height of the Goddess is one foot and a image of God Nrusingha with one foot height is at the right side of Goddess.
A special cake namely Basant Kakara Pitha is offered to Goddess on the Day of Basant Panchami or Shree panchami. In evening, twenty two coconuts were also offered to Devi Saraswati. In the same day the famous Madala Panji ( Temple Anecdote ) is read in front of Goddess.
