Mruttika currently under way at Exhibition Ground is showcasing handmade terracotta items such as earthen vases and terracotta versions of traditional vessels.The exhibition is a must-visit for people, who are collecting designer diyas or earthen lamps and other lighting materials this diwali. The diyas are available in shapes of turtles, butterflies and flowers. Incense stick holders, lamps, small containers for tea lights are also available.
Around 70 potters and artisans from over 20 districts of the state, including Balasore, Khurda, Jagatpur, Keonjhar and Nabarangpur, are displaying their creations at the annual fair. The traditional artisans have also put on display clay models of bells, candle stands, wall hangings, lampshades, ornament boxes and containers in different shapes and sizes.
