Orissa Biennale, an international festival observed to celebrate the rich art and cultural heritage of the globe, is slated to commence in October. Organised by city-based cultural organisation Mudra Foundation, the fest is likely to witness a conglomeration of international artists on the premises of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), where a battery of cultural programmes have been planned. This year the theme for the event is ‘Mélange’ and the organisers have decided to hold the programmes with global participants from October 26 to November 1. Orissa-Biennale-2015 will be spearheaded by celebrated Japanese Odissi and contemporary dancer Masako Ono.
Acclaimed artists from around the globe in the fields of performing arts, design, visual arts, crafts, arts, music, film and photography are expected to participate in this year’s Biennale in collaboration with artists from Orissa.
