Richard Lobo has been promoted as the head HR at Infosys, the second largest IT company in India. Until now, Lobo was heading the HR function for the company’s manufacturing and engineering services vertical.
Lobo, an alumnus of Xavier’s Institute of Management, and a mechanical engineer from Manipal Institute of Technology, joined Infosys in 2000.
Prior to that he was with Godrej & Boyce, where he was assistant manager – sales and marketing, responsible for sales in North India. He also managed the marketing activity including advertising, product management and brand building.
In March 2015, Infosys split the role of HR into two parts – strategy and operations to effectively manage its 1.8 lakh workforce. Following which, the global HR head at Infosys, Srikantan Moorthy was moved to a delivery function role in April.
When other IT majors are facing high attrition rates, Infosys has managed to keep it below 15 per cent in FY 2015-16.
