New dress code for convocation introduced with 15th Convocation of NIT Rourkela held on 20th Jan, 2018 with the popular dress of Western Odisha i.e. Sambalpuri Kurta/ Pyjama / Uttariya for boys and Sambalpuri Saree for girls. Coincidentally, the Chief Guest of the function Dr. Pramod Kumar Mishra, IAS(retd), Additional Principal Secretary to Hon’l Prime Minister happens to be the son of the soil ie Sambalpur.
