Odisha government has decided to set up six new skill development centres in the state, according to a notification issued by the skill development and technical education department.
In the first phase, four temporary campuses would be set up in Bhubaneswar, Jharsuguda Engineering School (JES) in Jharsuguda, Rourkela ITI and Bolangir ITI.
All these centres would operate under the Odisha Skill Development Project. New centres would function as self sufficient institutes for students in their regions in the same way as ITIs and Polytechnics. The new skill development centres would be funded jointly by the state government as well as the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
