Xavier School of Sustainability (XSoS) in collaboration with Wipro Ltd. hosted the Wipro Earthian Sustainability Quiz, 2018, on September 29, 2018, 9:00 a.m onwards at Xavier University Bhubaneswar campus. The topic of the quiz was Sustainability and its Allied Sectors.
Wipro Ltd. is the pioneer of India’s largest sustainability program, Wipro Earthian. Numerous initiatives such as annual events, regional events, workshops, and quizzes symbolize Wipro Ltd’s commitment to mobilize sustainability across India. The Wipro Earthian Quiz, 2018 was one such leap in the historic journey of Wipro Ltd.
The Quiz strived to build a fresh perspective on the pressing issues, which concerns everyone. The students of sustainability believed that this quiz would inculcate the much-needed sustainability thinking in the youth.
The quiz was conducted in the presence of Mr. Abhijeet Paul Zacharia, Program Manager at Wipro, Dr. S. Peppin, Dean, Xavier School of Sustainability, Fr. Donald DSilva, SJ, Associate Professor, Xavier School of Communications and the esteemed faculty and students of Xavier School of Sustainability. The quizmaster Lloyd Saldanha, Vice President (Quizzing) and Quizmaster at Greycaps India Pvt evaluated the participants on basis of their knowledge in two subsequent rounds at the end of which the winners were declared.
A cash prize of INR 30,000 was awarded to the winner team, Adarsh Kumar Mohapatra and Ranjan Anil Kumar from AIIMS Bhubaneswar. INR 15,000 was awarded to the first runner up team, Rajashree Banerjee and Aditya Kumar Rana from first year of Xavier School of Sustainability and the second runners up team of Saumya Nautiyal and N.Elaka Priya from second year of Xavier School of Sustainability were awarded with INR 5000. Participation certificates were distributed to all the 61 teams.
The guests were presented with a token of appreciation by Fr. Donald DSilva, SJ, Associate Professor, Xavier School of Communications.
