Mahodadhi Arati an annual event performed by Shankaracharya Mutt of Gobardhan Peeth, Puri to calm the sea and to destroy the evil forces. Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati Maharaj offered Maha Arati to Tirtharaj Mahodadhi (Sea) in the pousha purnnima evening on January 12.
