Odisha government cleared a proposal of Gitanjali Exports to set up a gems and jewelry manufacturing unit at Trisulia near the city with an investment of Rs 200 crore.
The state level single window clearance authority (SLSWCA) headed by chief secretary A P Padhi cleared the proposal that would create a direct employment opportunity for around 4000 people.The proposal was received during the Make in India week in Mumbai. It would be the first unit of the company in Eastern India.
The company has a plan to set up a gems and jewelry park at the same location by an additional investment of Rs 489 crore. After expansion, the proposed park would create direct employment opportunity for 12,000 people.
