The first Chicken fresh was inaugurated at Saheed Nagar on May 24 and the second one at Nayapalli near the directorate of horticulture on September 2 this year. Now the third one opened at OUAT siripur market. While the meat sellers are selling chicken at Rs 150 to Rs 160-a-kg, it costs Rs 120-a-kg at the outlet. Similarly, while eggs are sold at Rs 4.60 in the open market, the Odisha State Poultry Products Co-operative Marketing Federation Limited (Opolfed) outlets are selling at Rs 3.75.
OPOLFED is also exploring the possibility of a tie-up with Venky’s India Limited to provide ready to eat chicken products to the consumers at an affordable price. Recently it started supply of chicken fresh products to the consumers in BMC area at their doorstep through online payment by visiting the site www.chickenfresh.in which is gaining momentum by the day.
