Police have decided to extend the deadline for registration of tenants – that had been made mandatory through a public order issued in April.
With the deadline extended, a new order was issued on August 14, and it would remain in force till October 12. According to the new notification, the landlords and their tenants need to submit a declaration form with the police stations concerned with all the details.
The form will have signatures of both the landlord and the tenant, along with particulars such as permanent address, occupation of the tenant, phone number of both of them and photocopy of the identity proof of tenant such as passport, driving licence, voter card, PAN card and ration card.
Landlords could download the form from the website of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar police www.bhubaneswarcuttackpolice.gov.in and submit it to the police station concerned either in person or through registered post addressed to the inspector in charges. They can also mail the scanned copy to the email address of the police stations. The email addresses of concerned police stations are also available on website and Facebook page of the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar police.
