In a bid to digitalise financial transactions, Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) will develop a platform – Common Payment System (CPS) – where citizens will make cashless payment for services. CPS is a key initiative under the Smart City proposal’s Intelligent City Operations and Management Centre (ICOMC) which focuses on citizen service payment options across the City including bus and para-transport payments, parking, civic services, utility payments, recreational services and retail transactions and shopping.
BSCL organised pre-tender workshop on CPS here on Friday in which 17 banking organisations, including six public sector banks and mobile banking organisations like PayTM, ITZ Cash, Ezee Pay and Phone Pe participated. The strictures, architecture and modalities of the proposed platform were discussed during the session.
