Starting this June 1st, people of cuttack will have the opportunity to register their vehicles online with the regional transport office (RTO). Centre has developed a software, Bahan-4, for online registration of vehicles at RTOs. Currently, online registration of motor vehicles is being accomplished at 325 RTOs in 14 states. “Cuttack RTO has been chosen as a pilot project for online registration of vehicles in the state,” said regional transport officer Dipti Ranjan Patra.
According to Patra, Bahan-4 will also help in online collection of road tax and transfer of vehicle ownerships. Moreover, the software will make the process of fitness checking less time consuming.
