Here is good news for Odisha.
The women in the state have started contributing to the nation building by participating in the workforce.
There has been increase in the ratio of women workforce as per the recent data received from the 2011 census figure, reveals an article written by Bishnupada Sethi, Chief of Census Operations Odisha.
In a well documented research article, Mr.Sethi has revealed that while the female work participation rate has come down in India from 25.63 per cent (PC) to 25.52 PC during the decade, while Odisha has registered increase from 24.66 PC to 27.16 PC.
The work participation rate in India as per 2011 census is 39.80 PC whereas in 2001 Census it was 39.10 PC.
In case of Odisha the work participation rate has been increased from 38.79 PC to 41.79PC during the decade 2001-2011.
Though work participation rate was less in the state in comparison to that of India during 2001 census, but in 2011 census, the work participation rate is more than that of the country.
