The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has allotted a Twenty20 International against South Africa to Odisha Cricket Association (OCA). The match will be held in the first week of October at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. It is a sort of out-of-turn allotment as Cuttack has been hosting international games for the last two years.
The Odisha centre was not in the original list of venues announced last month for the two-month home series against South Africa. The association has been given the second of the three T20Is. The other two games will be in Kolkata and Dharamshala.
In addition to the three T20Is, the Proteas are slated to play five ODIs and four Tests in October and November. Chennai, Kanpur, Gwalior, Rajkot and Mumbai will host the five one-dayers with the four Test centres being Mohali, Delhi, Nagpur and Bangalore. The series will start with the T20Is, followed by ODIs and finally the four Tests.
