Odisha Mountaineer Jogabyasa Bhoi conquers South America’s highest mountain peak Mt. Aconcagua. The 33-year-old Bhoi completed the expedition in Argentina on December 7 along with nine others after 6 member of the 16-strong contingent beat a retreat due to illness. Mr Jogabyasa Bhoi, hailing from Rupra village of Narla block in Kalahandi District of Odisha, successfully scaled Mount Everest in 2011. That apart, he is credited with a number of achievements including, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak of Africa, Mount Elbruse, the highest peak of Europe and Mount Carstensz Pyramid, the highest peak of Australia-Oceania . Mr Bhoi is the only Indian among the team of eight going for the expedition. The expedition is being organized by Acomara, Argentina on 25th November 2014. Mr. Bhoi left India for the expedition on 18th November 2014. He is the first person from Odisha to bring this laurel if he completes this expedition successfully.
