Biraja Prasad of Odisha of 1998 Indian Foreign Service batch, currently Counsellor (Political) in Indian Embassy inMoscow, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Tajikistan. He worked as the Deputy Chief of Mission in the Indian Embassy in Madrid. In the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India, he handled the work related to India’s bilateral relations with the Russian Federation, France, Germany and Spain.
Biraja Prasad is the youngest IFS officer to be appointed as India’s ambassador to any country.
