Netaji Birthplace Museum here is going to have the cuttack’s first musical fountain. Work on the project will begin shortly. The culture department had sanctioned Rs 48 lakh for the project expected to become a popular tourist destination. The musical fountain will be built in the garden within the precincts of the museum at Odia Bazaar.
While the musical fountain project has taken shape over the past few months, the trust is still in a quandary over the failure of the light and sound show, which had been introduced at the museum nearly three years ago. The museum offers a 25-minutes show from 6.45 to 7.10 every evening – except Mondays and holidays – with tickets priced at Rs 15. Under the project, an open-air gallery had been constructed to accommodate 100 viewers.
