Finally the water of Ramchandi gears up to handle the girls. Yes! Today was the beginning of the Stand Up Paddling (SUP) workshop conducted by Girl Power team of ISF MYDestiny.
A workshop exlusively for the women where around ten enthusistic girls from Bhubaneswar participated. Caroline along with her surfer mates conducted the workship. The workshop started with a balancing on board session at Rangers, the ISF head quaters. After that the girls were taken to Ramchandi to experience the water.
It was a moment of happiness and enjoying for each of the girls. When asked about their feeling, all they could say was “we experienced Heaven!” “It was like setting ourselves free, without being afraid of anything!” said one. “Pure joy it was” added another.
The workshop was one on one basis where one surfer took full charge of the participant. The participants were taught to balance their body on the board and then to stand on the board. Most of them were successful in doing it and the excitement of doing it successfully was visible on each of their faces. It was moment were all of the girls were free from their regular lives and all they focued on was enjoying the moment of indepence.
The workshop was just a spark of fire to the Girl Power of the state. There are few more workshops lined up before the kick start of the fourth edition of India Surf Festival on 6th February.
