Intending to make the best use of large forest stretches available on the edge of Bhubaneswar, the Odisha government has mooted setting up the State’s first night safari.
Though the night safari plan is at a very nascent stage, the authorities are eyeing 1,000 hectares of forest land (more than 10 sq km) comprising 4.37 sq km forest of the Nandankanan sanctuary and close to 6 sq km area of the Chudanga reserve forest that comes under the Chandaka sanctuary limits.
