On the eve of celebration of Utkal Dibasa, Padma Shri Haldhar Nag inaugurated a photo exhibition ‘Odia Swabhiman Pradarshani’ at Janata Maidan today. Speaking on this occasion, Shri Nag said, without mother, soil and mother tongue Odia fraternity cannot progress in their life.
Further speaking Shri Nag told, “Our history, tradition, language and culture” are the soul of our people. We never hesitate to learn and speak Hindi or English as those are national and international languages. But our mother has the first right to be honoured. Similarly we should respect our mother tongue. Adding to this he said, we should not disrespect other languages or culture. But our mother, motherland and mother tongue have the first right to be honoured.
It may be noted here that, this photo exhibition is showcasing photo collage on Independent Utkal State, freedom fighters, poets, political leaders, social reformers who had fought for Odisha’s independence, Ancient Temples of Odisha, Natural Beauties of Odisha, Its History, Tradition, Culture, Industrial Revolution in Odisha and many more on our State of Odisha.
A mega event on the day of Utkal Divas will be organized by Kalinga Association for Protection of Cultural and Heritage (Kapoch) at Janata Maidan in the afternoon of April 1st . Union Agricultural Minister Shri Radhamohan Singh and Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan are slated to grace the occasion and chief guests.
On this occasion, popular bollywood singer Udit Narayan and many other Odia singers will perform in the evening. Mouth-watering delicious odia food will be sold here also.
